Sun newspaper also made mention that Italian club have the option to convert the season-long loan into a permanent transfer for a fee in the region of £3.5million next summer.
The Sun report that Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti
Thisisfutbol.com made an analysis about the transfer below;“has been so impressed with Ospina’s efforts as stand-in for the injured Alex Meret that he is keen to complete the signing in January”.
Good move for Arsenal?
Yes. There is no obvious route back into the Arsenal squad for Ospina following the £22.5million summer signing of Bernd Leno, who has emerged as the new number one under Unai Emery after displacing the veteran Petr Cech. With no signs that the Czech is looking to leave, three into two clearly won’t go and that means Ospina is surplus to requirements. The 30-year-old is contracted to Arsenal until the summer of 2020, and the next two windows represents the last chances for the club to get a decent fee for the Colombia international. Ospina did reasonably well when given his chance at Arsenal and can leave with his head held high.

Likely to happen?
It appears only a matter of time as to when Ospina quits Arsenal for good. Given that he is playing regularly for the Italian high flyers, who top a Champions League group including Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, it appears a move to Naples in the forthcoming window is now looking likely, especially as Ancelotti is such a fan.
